Research Associate
To support the day-to-day activities for the smooth running of research projects from start to finish, build strong day-to-day stakeholder and client relationships and make valuable contributions by continually building technical expertise as a researcher.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively seek to understand the client’s business, the global market and trends, and use this knowledge to improve the work you do.
- Employ an appropriately professional tone in all communications, including emails, presentation materials, telephone calls and face-to-face meetings.
- Assist client contacts in being able to locate and use existing data through your sound knowledge of the content of regular reports, database structures and other regular deliverables.
- Take ownership of client requests, ensuring they are acted upon, where appropriate, by answering client queries with support from your supervisor.
- Responsible for/involved in producing the regular data deliverables and ensuring that they are dispatched on time and accurately.
- Begin to learn how to build stories from the data by recognising patterns and drawing logical conclusions based on your analysis of the data set.
- Assist in preparing and delivering presentations to clients. Seek opportunities to practice presentation skills to develop a confident style in delivery.
- Ensure through swift planning, the availability of facilities, materials and work-related resources for all staff.
- Develop the analytical skills and knowledge required for this role. The goal is to service the client’s contract by responding to client data requests, handling project briefs, and delivering accurate and insightful information.
- Develop and draft key research tools and materials such as questionnaires, surveys, study briefs, reports, and proposals.
- Develop research strategies and tactics and draw scientific/factual recommendations from the findings.
- Administrative support, where you draft documents such as SoWs, meeting notes, work plans and budgets.
- Any other relevant duty as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
- Completed tertiary education – degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Research, Statistics, or any related field.
- Proficient in MS Office - Google Suite is a plus
- Proficient in writing and editorial of reports, concept notes and other documents.
- Capability to produce content on time, with a high level of attention to detail
- A well-organized team player with the ability to perform various tasks, act individually, and think creatively
- Willingness to learn and develop market research skills
- Outstanding time management with the ability to multitask on various tasks
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a collegial environment.
- Ability to reconceptualise issues to discover simple and practical solutions to hard problems
- The ability to use analytical software e.g., SPSS, RFS will be an added advantage.
